MUMMY: A Delusical
Mummy is a musical about what happens when you’re 38, never made it as an artist, desperately want children, and end up as an unpaid live-in nanny for a wealthy LA industry family because you need free housing.
Based on a true story from the playwright’s life, the show follows Kayla, an aging divorcée with a front-row seat to the two things she can’t afford: children and a home. She never got to be a star. She never got to be a mother. Instead, she ended up something worse: a nobody. But playing the perfect nanny could be her way out of homelessness and into Hollywood.
To survive the grinding humiliation of indentured servitude, Kayla splits in two: there’s the grateful, accommodating caretaker she performs, and Alektra Hex, a glittering pop dictator who appears in explosive musica…
